Rundu Campus Deepens Dialogue on UNAM’s Strategic Future

At Rundu Campus, the conversation around UNAM’s future gained momentum. The Integrated Strategic Business Plan (ISBP) 2025–2030 engagement moved beyond introduction to deeper reflection, ownership and dialogue.

Here, the message was clear: strategy is not imposed, it is co-created and must now be collectively delivered. The engagement highlighted a shared responsibility to turn vision into measurable impact.

Following its launch at Katima Mulilo Campus, the ISBP awareness drive continued at Rundu Campus from 05 – 06 March 2026. The engagement brought together staff, students and leadership in a collaborative setting.

The initiative reflects a broader cultural shift within UNAM. It places strategy at the centre of everyday institutional life, moving it from documents into action.

“Effective implementation of the ISBP requires disciplined alignment of resources, systems and people,” said Prof. Ellen Ndeshi Namhila, Pro-Vice Chancellor: Administration & Finance. “It is through this alignment that we will ensure sustainability, accountability and measurable institutional progress.”

Rundu Campus Director, Prof. Helen Miranda, emphasised the inclusive nature of the ISBP. She noted that its development drew input from students, staff, alumni and stakeholders across the University.  “The strength of the ISBP lies in its inclusivity and the voices that shaped it,” said Prof. Miranda. “Our responsibility now is to translate that shared vision into tangible outcomes at campus level.”

She highlighted that the plan represents a shared vision shaped by many voices. The responsibility now lies with the entire UNAM community to bring it to life.

“The ISBP belongs to the entire University community,” said Mr. Fanuel Hiiko. “Our role now is to ensure that every campus understands it, engages with it, and actively contributes to its success.”

Inside the two-day ISBP engagement programme

The programme is designed to move participants from awareness to engagement. The first day focuses on presentations that unpack the ISBP’s strategic priorities and institutional direction.

The second day encourages dialogue and shared understanding. It includes interactive sessions, feedback platforms and team-building activities to reinforce collaboration.

The campus-to-campus rollout continues across UNAM’s 12 campuses until 25 March 2026. Rundu Campus has strengthened the momentum, reinforcing that institutional success depends on collective effort.
