The UNAM School of Law and the entire university community extend hearty congratulations to its alumnus, Dr Ndjodi Ndeunyema, for being awarded the Dr Surya Subedi prize at Oxford University for the best doctoral thesis in law during the 2019-2020 academic period.
The prize is awarded to the law thesis that, in the opinion of the judges, makes the most exciting and original contribution to the relevant field of scholarship and is best-crafted in terms of organisation, style and presentation.
Dr Ndeunyema studied law (B-Juris and LLB) at UNAM and completed his studies in the year 2013. Ndjodi, as he is affectionately known, started to sharpen his legal writing when he co-founded the UNAM Law Review during his LLB studies and represented UNAM at various international mooting competitions.
Senior academics within the School of Law recall Dr Ndeunyema as an exceptional student who excelled inside and outside the classroom. While a student, he co-authored a book with his classmates, that was published by UNAM press. The book is titled: “The Law of Pre-Trial Criminal Procedures in Namibia” – which remains a relevant literature to this day.
The University of Namibia remains immensely proud of his dedication to the advancement of the legal profession.
