On 09 August 2024, Prof. Kenneth Matengu, UNAM Vice Chancellor, signed a UNAM Press author agreement with Prof. Peter Katjavivi, Speaker of the National Assembly, for the book titled Undisciplined Heart.
The book was authored by the Speaker’s late wife, Ms. Rosemary Jane Katjavivi, who was also the founding publisher of UNAM Press.
This signing took place on the second anniversary of the author’s passing, serving as a tribute to the memory of Jane Katjavivi and her great contribution to the Namibian book and publishing sector.
Ms. Naitsikile Iizyenda, the UNAM Press Publisher, remarked: “Originally published by Modjadji Books in 2010, the UNAM Press edition of Undisciplined Heart is complemented by a colour photograph insert and an epilogue, which completes her life story and celebrates her substantial contribution to publishing in Namibia.”
Prof. Peter Katjavivi, founding Vice-Chancellor of the University of Namibia, served from 1992 to 2003 and is the namesake of the PK Halls on the Main Campus.
